Standard Spaced Strands with Real-Time Capabilities
RTS™ - Real-Time Strands - are strands designed for intra-operative cutting and loading, consisting of low dose rate prostate brachytherapy sources encapsulated in a synthetic bioabsorbable polymer. Each strand is ten centimeters in length, contains ten sources, and exhibits a standard loading pattern of 1.0 centimeter center-to-center spacing. Extra spacing material is provided as part of the kit for the intra-operative construction of special loads.
The strands are provided in a special cutting board carrier, shielded and sterile. Each RTS Kit includes a choice of SeedLock3™ or 17 or 18 gauge Applicator Technique needles in separate, sterile pouches. Sterile StrandPort devices can also be provided for use with RTS.
RTS is also available with echogenic strands as Echo Real-Time Strands (ERTS).
