Custom Strands, Reduced Preparation Time with Real-Time Capabilities
CRTS™ - Custom Real-Time Strands - are strands designed for intra-operative loading, consisting of low dose rate prostate brachytherapy sources encapsulated in a synthetic bioabsorbable polymer. Strands can be from 1.5 to 6.0 centimeters in length and can accommodate any conceivable loading pattern including standard spacing, special loads, urethral sparing, optimized spacing, back-to-back (consecutive) seeds, baseline loading, or any combination thereof. Extra spacers can be provided to reconstruct loads intra-operatively.
The strands are provided in a special carrier, shielded and sterile, allowing for easy loading of strands in the operating room. CRTS Kits also include a radiograph verifying strand loading patterns and a choice of SeedLock3™ or 17 or 18 gauge Applicator Technique needles in separate, sterile pouches. Sterile StrandPort devices can also be provided for use with CRTS.
CRTS is also available with echogenic strands as Echo Custom Real-Time Strands (ECRTS).
